Edges & 8s

 My figures lesson with Danette on the 8:30 a.m. FS.  Okay ice.

Today's lesson:

• edges -- these are slowly starting to come back to where they were.  Back were relatively okay.  FO still not so great, mostly posture issues.
• FO8 -- eep. Not getting around and circle sizes are not matched and too large.  Eeep.
• FI8 -- a bit better than FO8 but that's not saying much.

It's Been A Minute

 My figures lesson with Danette on the 8:30 p.m. FS at Chandler. Ice was just okay, only 4 skaters.

Whoa. I had not skated in weeks, between one thing and another.  So....my expectations were appropriately low. 

Today's lesson was just.... edges.  Eeep.  It took a while to get back to some semblance of good form and posture.  Even the FI edges were not so great. The BO edges were surprisingly good though.

 My lesson with Holly on the CCIC adult FS.  Nice ice and just 3 skaters.

A quick warmup and then on we went!

• perimeter XOs -- pretty good, actually.  I was able to retain my fixes from last week.
• power-3s -- urph. Most of our time on these.  On the LFO3 side Holly reminded me to lift the free hip/bring in the free leg on the turn so it's not so swingy. The RFO3 side is still pretty wonky; we spent some time trying to really watch posture from the BXO into the 3.  Ugh.
