Program Work, Waltz-Toe, Spins

My lesson with JJ on the 7:30 a.m. FS.  As has been usual lately, just me and Amber skating this session.

Today's lesson:
  • program work -- we continued to work on the revised opening of the program and ran it twice with music.  It's better and now that I'm able to do it I'm liking it more than the original beginning; the timing is a little different and I am able to do the crossovers without heading into the corner so much.  The spiral still needs improvement, of course, but the whole thing is coming along nicely.
  • waltz-toe loop -- this is getting closer.  JJ continued to work with me on getting the whole body turned in the entry just before the takeoff.  The setup from the waltz jump is good now.
  • spins -- ugh.  These were pretty much all icky, although I did a nice one in my warmup.  Grr.
After my lesson I stayed for the next session and had private ice the whole time!  I worked on jumps and spins and some moves also.
