Private Ice

Since I didn't skate in the a.m., I escaped to Gilbert since they had a 5:15 p.m. FS.  As it turned out, despite the previous session having been the usual zoo, there was no one on the 5:15 but me!

I had a really good skate... salchows were actually pretty good, and I'm actually getting a little bit of "jump" to them (instead of more like a "step").  I think I'm still jumping too late on these though, but it's progress.  Worked on the waltz-toe combo... this is not happening right now.  I pick in but can't get myself to attempt the jump.  Grrr.  Spins were pretty good though -- I decided I needed to work on not bailing out and I made some progress.. yay!

I spent a little bit of time on Bronze Moves.. Power-3s are better than I remembered; the 3s are actually okay, it's the back lobe that is the issue -- I think I am doing the BXO too early and/or I block myself w/my shoulder when I'm trying to step forward.  Grr.

JJ was there so we had a brief talk after about the program and competition stuff.  We agreed to meet Saturday afternoon off-ice to talk about further stuff.
