New Year's Sk8

I skated the public session on New Year's Day. I had about a half-hour warmup, worked on nothing special. Around 2:30 my friend Liana showed up and I spent some time teaching her to skate -- she was an absolute beginner just as I had been back in the day! Unlike me she was a quick learner though, and by the end of the session she'd learned to swizzle and do some very basic stroking.
